Description

Aquascot is looking for a new production or manufacturing leader to take over ownership of both their production facilities in Alness, Highlands.

You will be a passionate people developer who has the skills, experience, and technical knowledge to drive best-in-class productivity.  Your character and value fit is as important as your skills. 
 
Experience in food production is advantageous but not essential.  It is essential that you come from a manufacturing background with a proven leadership capability.  Your team will be around 110 strong and you need to have the interpersonal skills to bring people along on the journey.

Main Purpose of the Role

  • To ensure the safety of all the manufacturing partners whilst delivering the customer service within the investment levels agreed.
  • To develop and coach partners to deliver a high-quality service, whilst championing the vision and values of Aquascot.
  • To develop and coach assistant managers to become effective leaders, developing their soft skills to champion and support partners’ needs and development, promoting fairness and consistency at all times.
  • Create a coaching culture within the Production environment, identify barriers and work with the team to find solutions. Ensure people are in the right jobs.
  • To balance the skills Procurement, development of the team to provide a flexible workforce to best meet the changing business challenges and partner opportunities for growth.
  • The main integral legal requirements of the role include but are not limited to, health and safety, food safety, employment law and quality.
  • To lead a highly effective production operation within the SQPDC (Safety, Quality, People, Delivery & Cost) framework, delivering on the area KPI’s set within each part of the framework and championing Lean principles.
  • To lead cross-functional manufacturing forums involving production, engineering, planning and technical membership to ensure quick decision making, consistent communications and alignment on forward planning.
  • Manage inter-company departmental relations to ensure high levels of transparency and consistency, promote positive employee relations, focused on optimising overall business performance.
  • Hosting external customers and auditors during any factory audits, visits, and pre-production launches.
  • Actively embrace the new manufacturing system and play active role in engaging the production team for its successful implementation and use it as a tool for continuous improvement.
