Our client, Scott Pallets, is a leading Europe-wide, industrial supplies organisation servicing the industrial, public and manufacturing markets. To support Scott Palletsfurther growth, we’re searching for a Key Account Manager to sit within the Sales and Procurement Team. Reporting directly to the National Sales Manager, the role will be responsible for managing and delivering a forward-thinking and proactive management strategy within a defined group of sales accounts. Driving volume and profitability targets, the focus will be to identify and leverage future growth opportunities aligned to the overall business strategy.
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering sales within a pre-defined customer portfolio.
  • Negotiating, agreeing and securing new customer contracts and SLA’s, as well as agreeing renewals of existing contracts.
  • Providing regular updates to the wider business on service feedback, industry trends and growth forecasts.
  • Providing market intel on competitors to enable the business to develop strategies to further develop competitive advantage.
  • Leading the tender process for a client portfolio to successfully secure new business.                                                                                       
  • Supporting with improving the overall business profitability.                                                           

Key requirements for the role:

  • Solid experience in product, service and value selling
  • Strong commercial acumen and awareness
  • Experience of multi-site delivery
  • Strong management and organisational skills
  • Consistent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence others
  • Demonstrable experience in building customer relationships
  • A positive, can-do attitude
  • Knowledge of the packaging or pallet industry would be advantageous

This is a superb opportunity for an experienced sales professional who has a strong team ethic, is able to prioritise and be reactive when needed, and is comfortable with the complexities involved in working across a number of operational delivery sites.
The role will involve UK travel and overnight stays as and when required, in line with the national area of responsibility.
